What is CoPhrase

CoPhrase runs one AI sales and support agent across every messaging channel your customers already use, with human takeover built in.

CoPhrase is a platform for building, running, and reselling AI agents that handle customer conversations on the channels your customers already use — Instagram DMs, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Telegram, Discord, SMS, email, and a web chat widget on your own site.

You configure one agent. It answers on every channel you connect.

What's live, and what isn't

Six channels are live: web chat, Discord, email, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram DMs. Messenger, WhatsApp Business API, iMessage, SMS, and connected Gmail/Outlook inboxes are being built. Some platform features are still rolling out — the playground, approval mode, BYOK, credits and billing, and the agency console. Pages describing those say so at the top.

What the agent does

CoPhrase is inbound-first: the agent handles messages that come to you.

JobWhat that means
SalesQualifies leads, answers product and pricing questions, handles objections, captures contact details, books meetings, sends links
SupportAnswers questions grounded in your own knowledge base — website, docs, FAQs — and escalates when it shouldn't guess
EscalationHands the thread to a human, in a unified inbox that spans every channel

Outbound (follow-up sequences, re-engagement, proactive outreach) is on the roadmap. It is not what CoPhrase does today.

The core idea: one brain, many channels

Every channel — a Discord server, a WhatsApp number, an Instagram professional account, an email inbox — normalizes into the same message format before the agent ever sees it. The agent has no idea which channel it is on. It just answers.

That means:

  • One persona, one knowledge base, one set of guardrails — not one bot per channel.
  • The data model can attach several verified channel identities to one contact; automatic cross-channel identity linking is being built.
  • Rich content degrades gracefully: a reply that can't render as buttons on a channel arrives as text.

Read Channels for how the connector layer works, and what each channel can and can't do.

Who it's for

  • Businesses running their own agent on their own channels.
  • Agencies building, running, and reselling agents for their clients — a Phase 4 target in which each client is their own workspace under one agency account. See Agencies.

What you control

Still being built

Messenger, WhatsApp Business API, iMessage, SMS, and connected Gmail/Outlook inboxes are in active development, as are the playground, approval mode, BYOK, billing, and the agency console. Each page says where it stands — see the channel matrix for the full picture.
